The aftermath: A one week midst, and the roads are dried up by the hot scorching sun, blazzing with the fine weather. There, in one corner of the walls, stuck splashes of tatty mud artisticly splattered as an aftermath of the huge downpour for the past weeks. In another corner of the road, lay layers of thick peat swamp, apparently simulated by the trickle of rain which swoosh down roofs, leaving huge round marks on the sand.

Uncleaned dry tatty splashes
The purtifying weather has been the concern of local newspapers including Borneo Bulletin and Brunei Times as it caused a lot of unexpected and traggic accidents, owing to the slippery roads of Brunei. Major blogs like Brunei Motors, Iskandar World, KB Happening and Anak Brunei also posted on the updates of certain inaccesible parts of Brunei, including some villages like the Kuala Balai area.

Swampy roads due to passing huge vehicles
It has been a “thumbs up” to Brunei Motors especially, for the great coverage to guide the public on which roads to avoid during the high overflows, mapping the affected area on a map, believed to be sourced from Google Maps and edited with the relevant image editing software. The map posted on their website has been a lot of helpful hands to those residing nearby the Bandar Seri Begawan area.

Sand may attract sandflies

However the roads had been good
