Vance Tan says: Exactly one week out of the web world! Quite busy with some stuff at work, arranging some newsletter articles plus editing them, called up for photography, caught up for dinner and so on. Yeah, I think for the next couple of months, I’ll be even busier but then I’ll still bring you guys updates about the 17th eXplomaths 2009 news, as the supporting website for the event, pairing up with their official blog, eXplomaths.blogspot.com.
UBD Korean Lecturer is coming: I’ll be covering the Korean Club activity tomorrow at Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar tomorrow at around 2 – 3 pm. And, thank you so much for the tag/pass as website reporter.
Healthy Body, Healthy Mind was the theme of this morning’s “MD’s Langkah Sihat 2009″ which welcomed more than 3500 staffs and contractors as early as 6.00 am. One participant included runner number 302, who was at broad smile throughout the adventurous run. Overall, prizes were presented to the triumphs of the expedition as well as for the best fancy dresses at the event. More write-ups coming up, stay tuned!

Recent research on peanuts and nuts in general has found antioxidants and other chemicals that may provide health benefits. New research shows peanuts rival the antioxidant content of many fruits. Roasted peanuts rival the antioxidant content of blackberries and strawberries, and are far richer in antioxidants than apples, carrots or beets. Research conducted by a team of University of Florida scientists, published in the journal Food Chemistry, shows that peanuts contain high concentrations of antioxidant polyphenols, primarily a compound called p-coumaric acid, and that roasting can increase peanuts’ p-coumaric acid levels, boosting their overall antioxidant content by as much as 22%. Above is the much awaited “My Recipes” book which will be ready for sale later today at the National Stadium VIP car park, in conjunction with the Special Olympics Bazaar. The foodie bloggers will have one booth set up later to sell those recipe books at $10 each and 100% of the sales will go to charity.
According to Senor Pablo, almost 100 copies are being reserved and there have only printed 500 exclusive copies. At this moment, there is no plan to reprint it again. So getting the book is on a first come first serve basis! The book is also going to UK, Australia, Canada, Kazakhstan, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Roslan OGDC makes appearance at PJN

Sports Day Awards Ceremony 2009: Although tied up with work as Head of Oil and Gas Discovery Centre, Roslan makes his appearance at SMPJNPHAB as the Guest of Honour for the “Prize Presentation Ceremony for Sports Day 2009″. His arrival was welcomed by the principal of Sekolah Menengah Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar, Cikgu Marina Chek Bte Bujang and ushered by four school prefects.
Prizes and certificates to the winning houses were given out by the Guest of Honour. Amongst some of the catergories being given off were the best marching house, won by Perkasa; and the best overall performance house, won by Panglima with the most medals of gold, silver and bronze overall.
