Local banker gets global award
BRUNEI TIMES (BRUNEI) - A Bruneian banker Matthew Yong, president of RBC Wealth Management in Asia, was recognised as one of the World’s Outstanding Young Private Bankers by an international publication.
Yong received the award during the Private Banker International Wealth Management Summit 2009 in Singapore. The award is given out by the Private Banker International, the oldest and most established international wealth management publication.
The award was presented to Yong for his exceptional capability in presenting the future of the banking industry and for demonstrating excellence in his field, through either leadership, innovation in products and services, excellence in strategy or combination of the three, the High Commission of Canada said in a statement yesterday.
Yong was appointed as president of the Royal Bank of Canada’s Wealth Management Asia on August 1 this year and, together with the CEO, is responsible for the overall RBC Wealth Management Asian business.
Canadian High Commissioner Wendell Sanford in a press statement expressed his pleasure at Yong’s award. Reported by The Brunei Times. Image courtesy of the High Commission of Canada.
