Crown Prince’s 36th birthday

MAIN HEADLINES:
BRUNEI TIMES - His Royal Highness Prince General Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office, General of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) yesterday attended a high tea reception hosted by RBAF to mark His Royal Highness’ 36th birthday.
Present to accompany the Crown Prince for the celebration at the Officer’s Mess of the Bolkiah Garrison in Berakas were Her Royal Highness Paduka Seri Pengiran Anak Isteri Pengiran Anak Sarah and His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik.
Upon arrival, RBAF Commander Major General Hj Aminuddin Ihsan Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Hj Abidin welcomed Their Royal Highnesses.
Also on hand to greet the royal entourage were Ministry of Defence Permanent Secretaries Dato Paduka Hj Mustappa Hj Sirat and Dato Paduka Hj Abd Majid Mangarshah.

Wealth Master is the fad: This new year, it is obvious that the Chinese “Wealth Master” is the current fad as we can see “them” accompanying lion dance troops around the district. Apparently, this is yet another new fresh idea from the Chinese educated schools to attract more house invitations.
EDUCATION NEWS:
Today is the final day for UBD Open Day, a day to expose more about University of Brunei Darussalam on what type of courses they offer to students admitting to the school. The crowd this afternoon was not as busy as the first day, with only one booth having a long queue. Anyway, people were pretty excited to know what they can minor and major in.

Laneige Beauty Quiz 2010 Week 1 February 2010 has ended yesterday at 10PM (+08:00, Brunei Time). There were a lot of entries coming in, but as the conditions has stated, I had to reject the late entries. Those of you who sent your emails after 10PM did not qualify for the participation entry.
The judging criteria is very strict, since this quiz has been participated by hundreds of people, so it goes through many processes to finally come up with a decision. The “acceptable” answers to three of the questions posted for Week 1:

Facebook has yet gone through another phase of revamping its site. Now, the design itself has tremendously been changed. Most of the navigation has been changed from bottom of the page to the left of the page. And, the icons for the messages and notifcations has been shifted right to the top left corner of the page.
Anyway, it takes some time to get used to the new Facebook.

His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, the Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces, bestowed ‘The Most Exalted Order of Paduka Keberanian Laila Terbilang’ First Class – DPKT – which gives the title Dato Paduka Seri – upon the Philippines’ Armed Forces Chief of Staff General Victor Sabio Ibrado at the Istana Nurul Iman yesterday.
General Ibrado is on a two-day introductory visit to strengthen bilateral relations and promote defence cooperation between Brunei Darussalam and the Philippines.

Thirty-eight students from the Jerudong International School (JIS) was on a school’s trip to a few destinations around the heart of the capital yesterday morning.
The participating students included the prince of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, The Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Negara Brunei Darussalam, His Royal Highness Paduka Seri Duli Pengiran Muda ‘Abdul Wakeel.
The visit commenced around the Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien mosque. A group photo taking was also being held. Amongst the supervising teachers was Carolyn Moran.
Throughout the visit, the group has an opportunity to witness the panoramic lives of the people in Kampong Ayer, one of the largest water village in Asia. Besides, the participating students also experienced the surroundings of the venues visited.
