Brunei Times photographers with His Majesty
Five photographers of ‘The Brunei Times’ posing for a photo with His Majesty during the get-together event in the Brunei-Muara district. Those photographers were usually snapping photographs of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam for The Brunei Times, but for a change, the five photographers working with The Brunei Times can now include a picture taken together with their beloved monarch in their photo albums.

Ultimate Spirit at Brunei Ultimate Frisbee Tournament
Jul 25th
About 150 people attended the Brunei Ultimate Frisbee Tournament which took place this morning (and is still on-going) at the Brunei Shell Recreational Club (BSRC), including 50-60 players comprising 4 teams altogether. A live update of the match was also seen broadcasting on Twitter, the world’s microblogging platform.
Amongst those joining in the tournament included our own local music band members such as members from Haziq and The Giggles. The Brunei Ultimate Frisbee Tournament 2010 today is indeed an ‘ultimate’ one since its the first ever tournament organised here in the country. There were special guests from Miri and Texas adding to the joyous scene at the BSRC.

World Cup in 4 years time, back to sleep
Scribbled Opinion: The Octopus was right, and so Spain were triumphant of their victory. All the cheers and laughters at 2.30am is now back to square one: silent as it was before the world cup commenced. People used to stay up till late night, and from every nook and corner of ever street, a ray of light, at least, will shine from either a living room or a bedroom.
A goal is recorded and a mixture of emotions struck through. Now, it’s merely total silence…until the next World Cup in four years time!

Spain wins over Netherlands
An irony of the World Cup: After Spain has been crowned the champions of FIFA World Cup in South Africa 2010, South Africa is left empty to fill as players made a move back to their countries of origin. A quote goes, “The excitement that hung in the air like invisible popcorn seeds waiting to burst open could only be overtaken by one thing on World Cup final day – a profound sadness.”
