Guardian has reported that electric cars tend to cost at least £10,000 more than similar-sized petrol or diesels on average. For instance, the Nissan Leaf goes on sale next February at £28,350 (around £10,000 more than an equivalent petrol or diesel), while the Mitsubishi iMiEV is priced at £38,699 (four times the cost of the petrol version).

The bottom line is purchasers will save almost £800 per year, assuming 10,000 miles a year in fuel costs. The electric smart will also cut down carbon dioxide emissions by 2.6 tonnes per year over 10,000 miles when compared with the industry average.

DST to launch Blackberry Service

This is going to be HOT! The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of DST Group, Idris T Vasi yesterday revealed that their company will be launching the highly-anticipated Blackberry service in Brunei by end of this year. They may do a soft launch in November and an actual one in December. Read more from Debbie Too on Brunei Times.

The Brunei Ultimate Frisbee Tournament 2010 today is indeed an ‘ultimate’ one since its the first ever tournament organised here in the country. There were special guests from Miri and Texas adding to the joyous scene at the BSRC.

They found bigger stars

Can you believe this? Okay, we don’t force you to believe but this is just outrageous! Paul Crowther, professor of astrophysics at the University of Sheffield and his team has led to a new discovery.

They have discovered the biggest star ever – more than 300 times the mass of the Sun, and twice as large as the generally accepted limit of 150 solar masses. The two young clusters of stars are called NGC 3603 and RMC 136a.
