The first facilitator, Haji Zaini bin Haji Omar briefed the 27 participants on the how to stay motivated in facing all challenges to be an excellent creative writer. He also touched on his experiences when he was holding a post at the Brunei Shell Petroleum Company. Haji Zaini used a number of references for his slides, including famous writers such as Habiburrahman El Shirazy who authored novels such as “Ayat-Ayat Cinta” and “Ketika Cinta Bertasbih” Book 1 and 2.

Registration for Lower Six at Sekolah Menengah Sayyidina Ali, Kuala Belait started this morning at the school itself. Rushing in for the registration were students and parents from the Belait District to choose on and register for this year’s lower six session.
There were facilitators everywhere, to give advice and opinions on the subjects to choose from the list of offered ones. Students are also required to know the rules and regulations of entering the school, through the information boards displayed throughout the main hall of the school.

Sebelum majlis bermula, Surah Al-Fatihah dibacakan yang diketuai oleh Yang Mulia Awang Ali Hanafiah bin Ramlee, Ahli Jawatankuasa Majlis. Majlis diteruskan dengan upacara pembukaan rasmi “Bengkel Penulisan Kreatif 2010″ oleh tetamu kehormat yang turut disertai dengan ucapan khas serta taklimat ringkas.
“Untuk menjadi seorang penulis tidaklah sesusah mana. Jika dulu, ada kertas, ada pen atau pensel dan idea maka akan adalah sesuatu yang dicoret dalam kertas,” jelas tetamu kehormat semasa beliau berucap pagi tadi.
Tetamu kehormat juga mengingatkan para peserta supaya mematuhi aturan-aturan penulisan, bukan sekadar meluahkan apa sahaja yang terpendam dalam lubuk hati dan minda lalu dilontar dalam kertas. Dengan itu, para peserta akan menjadi penulis-penulis yang berwibawa dan sentiasa memberi pemahaman kepada masyarakat tentang sesuatu perkara.

The SEN Charity Event 2010 took place yesterday at The Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) in Seria yesterday. The event started from 9am and ended at 4pm. Multiple business consisting of small and medium enterprises participated in vendoring their products at the charity event to raise a fund for charity. There was colouring contest, face painting, cake selling and customised cars.

An annual dinner by Adinin Group Of Companies (Adinin Works & Engineering Sdn Bhd) to celebrate 2 Million Manhours Without LTI & TRC was held yesterday at Kuala Belait.
The main highlight of the night was to present the awards to the long sevice staffs of Adinin Group of Companies, including a recipient who has been serving the company for 20 years in running. A dinner catered by Serikandi Catering was served for all the attendees with a wonderful music in the background.

Facebook has yet gone through another phase of revamping its site. Now, the design itself has tremendously been changed. Most of the navigation has been changed from bottom of the page to the left of the page. And, the icons for the messages and notifcations has been shifted right to the top left corner of the page.

A group expedition has led to an interesting investigation. Signs have been put up that swimming is prohibited, but some people who visited that area do not comprehend the warnings being put up. Children were allowed to play in the dangerous waterfall areas, and parents were consenting to permitting them. However, a few groups of people who were having a barbeque party was fairly acceptable as they do not deal with any water related activities.

“The response to this fair has been very unexpected. We were estimating over 60,000 visitors and we have had over 80,000 visitors so far today on the final day of the fair,” he said yesterday.
“We have also had very good feedback from vendors and a lot of them, including those from overseas, will be coming back for the next consumer fair. The response from visitors has also been very positive. The public is very happy with the variety of newer and better products at the Consumer Fair 5,” he added.

Wrap up for RTB Media Carnival: RTB Media Carnival was way terrific. The carnival which took place at the International Convention Centre concluded yesterday. It was an improvement compared to the previous one I’ve covered; there was more interaction with the public. Thumbs up to all the working commitees.
RTB is currently promoting its HD (High Definition) project to the public, which will be launching in the near future, but the date is yet to be confirmed. Radio Television Brunei currently has five television stations including RTB 1,2,3,4 and 5.
